Hannah Smith Sets School 5K Record At Chile Pepper Festival

THE BASICS
Competing in one of the premier cross country events in America, the Eagles finished 48th as a team in the 5K Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival Saturday in Fayetteville. Senior Hannah Smith paced the Eagles with a 130th place finish running a 19:26.8 to set a new school record. Smith broke her own record (19:52.0) she set last year at the Chile Pepper Festival. Silvia Chavez placed 328th with a time of 22:11.6, second best for the Eagles. The Eagles topped conference foes East Texas Baptist and Louisiana College as a team. Chauzney Hooks and Katherine Goins had PR's in the race. There were 422 runners in the event.
