Jimmy Clark enters his 20th season at University of the Ozarks. Following the 2015 baseball season, Clark stepped down as head coach to focus on his full-time duties as the Athletic Director.

At Ozarks as Athletic Director

  • Oversees a department encompassing 20 sports
  • Administers to more than 320 student-athletes
  • Manages 25 athletic staff members
  • Has served as Athletic Director since 2007
  • Became university's first full-time Athletic Director in 2015-2016
  • With an emphasis on four-year graduation success, Clark has helped significantly increase student-athlete graduation rates
  • Has created innovative ways to offer more athletic opportunities for students and increase university enrollment, adding nine new sports to its offering during his tenure
  • Guided university to membership in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for swimming
  • Instituted renovations of the Mabee Athletic Complex that included a new weight room, new lockerooms, a new athletic performance center, new conference room and a facility for wrestling and cheer/STUNT
  • Hired the university's first fulltime strength and conditioning coach
  • Oversaw renovations for a strength and conditioning facility, which includes a weight room
  • Fundraiser for university's 55-million dollar Climb Higher campaign
  • Managed the construction for the new Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center
  • Has fostered academic success among the university’s student-athletes and teams, resulting in numerous team academic awards from national organizations including the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, Intercollegiate Tennis Association, National Soccer Coaches Association of America and U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
  • University's athletic programs have produced 510 American Southwest Conference All-Academic selections during his time as Athletic Director 
  • Ozarks has advanced to 27 post-season competitions
  • Signed a multi-year deal with UnderArmour, making Ozarks one of a few select NCAA Division III institutions to partner with the leader in performance apparel, footwear and equipment (2016) 
  • Assisted with the launch of the athletic department's new visual identity initiative in 2016, which included a new contemporary Eagle logo
  • Initiated the use of Apple iPad's for athletic staff
  • Serves the American Southwest Conference as the baseball liaison for Athletic Directors
  • Has increased the university's student-athletes' community service involvement, with volunteer work with the Special Olympics, Salvation Army, Clarksville School District and the Johnson County Boys and Girls Club

At Ozarks as Head Baseball Coach

  • Coached the baseball program 14 seasons
  • Posted the program's first winning record in nearly a decade (2005)
  • American Southwest Conference East Division Coach of the Year (2005)
  • Guided the program to the conference post-season tournament in 2007, a feat not accomplished since 1996
  • Led program to three consecutive post-season appearances (2007, 2008, 2009)
  • Had the program's first national ranking (2008)
  • Led program to a school-best 32-11 season (2008)
  • 2008 club ranked as high as No. 14 nationally
  • Coached three All-Americans and numerous others on the ABCA/Rawlings and D3Baseball.com All-Region Team
  • Coached nine players on the prestigious Academic All-District Team

Additional Coaching Experience

  • Coached baseball at Class AAA powerhouse Heber Springs High School (Ark.) for nine years
  • Named the Conference Coach of the Year twice at Heber Springs
  • Led Heber Springs to three conference titles and a regional title

Collegiate Playing Experience

  • Four-year starter at the University of Central Arkansas playing first base, pitcher, outfield and designated hitter

Education

  • Earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas
  • Earned a master's degree in Secondary Education from UA-Little Rock

  • Active member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville
  • University's advisor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • Member of the Board of Directors at the Johnson County Boys and Girls Club
