Cole, a 6-0, 150-pound right-hander from Jacksonville, struck out five and allowed one earned run in a nine-inning complete-game win over the Kangaroos. The 12-3 win, Cole's first of the season, opened the Eagles' division three-game sweep of Austin. Cole currently ranks second on the team in strikeouts (22) and appearances (10) while sporting a 3.83 ERA. In the conference, Cole ranks in fourteenth in ERA and twelfth in innings pitched. He is holding opposing batters to a .218 batting average, seventh-best in the league. A 2001 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Cole earned all-state and was a two-time all-conference performer during his High School career. He also played in the 2001 Arkansas Activities Association All-Star game.
