Brian Heckmann's Two-RBI Single Gives Eagles 9-7 Win

Heckmann's single to left field scored Chris Harrell and Bret Hays and broke a 6-6 tie. Freshman second baseman Rusty Farrin then made a ninth inning diving catch with a Hendrix runner on third base to seal the win. Senior pitcher Justin Dixon held Hendrix to two runs in the final four innings of play. Ozarks put three runs on the board in the first inning after Todd Vandevoir, Anthony Brandon and Cliff Ford crossed the plate. Cliff Ford helped the Eagles' cause by blasting a home run over the left field fence in the fifth inning to give Ozarks a 5-4 lead. It was Ford's third home run of the season. Hendrix, however, would tie the game at 5-5 in the fifth inning, but the Eagles three-run rally in the eighth inning proved to be too much. The Eagles recorded 12 hits in the game with Ford tallying a team-best four hits. Harrell and Brandon each recorded two hits apiece.
