The Bobcats (10-4) managed a 10-3 advantage after five innings of play and increased their lead to 13-3 going into the bottom of seventh. The Bobcats scored 10 runs on 10 hits through five innings, but six of the Eagles' eight errors occurred during that span. The Eagles (10-8) stormed back to cut the deficit to 13-8 after scoring five runs on six hits in the bottom of the seventh. Trevor Holbert led off the inning with his second home run of the season. Chris Harrell, Brett Hays, Caleb Hilton, Anthony Brandon and Clint Phifer each singled in the inning, with Holbert, Hilton, Phifer and Rusty Farrin each recording an RBI. The Eagles' first runs of the game came on a Hays homer and made the score 5-2 in favor of the Bobcats at the end of the third. It was Hays' second home run of the year. Phifer would lead off the bottom of the fourth with a home run to cut the deficit to 5-3, but a five-run fifth for the Bobcats gave them a 10-3 cushion. It was Phifer's second homer of the year. The Bobcats tallied 15 hits while the Eagles collected 12. Hays, Hilton, Phifer and Harrell each had two hits apiece. Chase Hale (0-1) received the loss after pitching two and two-third innings. The Eagles host Mississippi College in American Southwest Conference action in a three-game series beginning with Friday's nine-inning contest at 2 p.m. Saturday's double-header is set to begin at 1 p.m.
