Mississippi College Powers Their Way To Win

The Eagles (19-19, 9-10) will face the Choctaws (25-13, 12-7) again tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m. A win by the Eagles and a loss by East Texas Baptist tomorrow would put Ozarks in the playoffs. Mississippi College jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after two innings of play. Ozarks battled back in the top of the fourth to tie the contest at 3-3. Caleb Hilton led off the fourth with a solo home run and Anthony Brandon and Tim Renshaw each collected an RBI in the inning. However, the Choctaws answered back with a five-run fifth and a three-run sixth. The Choctaws then had a ten-run seventh behind four home runs to put the game away. The Choctaws broke East Texas Baptist's ASC single-game home run record of eight. Mississippi College out hit the Eagles 24-11. Kyle Hudson (5-3) received the loss. Brett Hays went 3-for-4. It was Hilton's 13 homer of the season. Tomorrow's double-header has been designated as "Senior Day" for Anthony Brandon, Justin Brown, Dustin Cole, Chase Hale, Brett Hays, Brian Heckmann, Caleb Hilton, Tyler Gideon and Mark Jelks. All nine will be honored at 12:45 p.m.
