Glenn Helps Eagles Win Sixth Straight

The Eagles (13-8, 3-0) have now won six straight and eight of their last nine. Ozarks cranked out two home runs and Curt Dixon pitched five scoreless innings as the Eagles picked up a 6-3 victory over the Tigers (4-15, 0-6) in game one. In the first inning, Andrew Teaster hit a solo home run to give Ozarks an early 1-0 lead. John Glenn led off the third with a homer and Todd Koch notched an RBI single to put Ozarks up 3-0. Glenn and Robby Finnell doubled in runs in back-to-back innings before the Tigers would answer with a three-run sixth inning. The Tigers had trouble against the hard-throwing Dixon (3-1) as he struck out four in five and one-third innings. Dixon allowed just three hits. East Texas Baptist couldn't do much better against Finnell, who received the save after pitching one and two-third innings of hitless ball. Ozarks out hit the Tigers 10-3, with Glenn finishing 3-for-4 and recording 2 RBI. Koch also had 2 RBI. The Eagles scored a pair of runs in the seventh and eighth innings as Ozarks came from behind to earn a 7-6 win in game two. Trailing 6-3 after six innings of play, Finnell singled in Teaster, and Koch notched an RBI on a fielder's choice in the top of the seventh. In the eighth, Glenn tripled in Chase Van Hoose and Teaster followed with a single, giving Ozarks a 7-6 lead. Ozarks got a run in the second on a Scott Dietz homer and another run in the third on a Finnell sacrifice fly. In the fourth, Dietz recorded a sacrifice fly to score David Isom. The Tigers began a rally in the bottom of the ninth as they loaded the bases, but Glenn struck out the fourth batter, forced a pop up and then ended the game with a fielder's choice out. Ozarks totaled 15 hits while ETBU had 11. Teaster went 3-for-4 and four other Eagles had two hits. Finnell (3-1) gained the win after going two and two-third innings. He struck out two. Glenn received the save. The Eagles will host Elmhurst College on March 21 at 12:00 p.m.
