Koch, Cameron Earn ASC Player of the Week Honors

Koch, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound right-hander, earned Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing 8 2/3 innings without a walk and striking out nine batters to pick up the win against Schreiner University on February 22. The San Antonio, Texas, native did not allow an earned run and scattered five hits in a 10-1 victory. Koch struck out the first three batters he faced, and then worked his way out a jam in the bottom of the second when he forced a double play to end the inning. Koch (1-1) owns a 1.98 ERA and has struck out 15 in 13.2 innings on the mound. The All-Conference performer is batting .583. Koch earned ASC All-East Division Second Team honors a year ago.

Cameron, a 6-foot-0, 175-pound native of Houston, Texas, earned Hitter of the Week after batting .470 with two doubles, a home run and 8 RBI in a 4-0 week that included a sweep of Schreiner. Cameron walked twice, did not strike out in 17 at-bats, stole two bases and scored five runs. In game one against Schreiner, he went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and a homer. For the season, he is batting .333 with 9 RBI and owns a .533 slugging percentage. Cameron earned ASC All-East Division Honorable Mention honors last season. 

Ozarks will host Mary-Hardin Baylor University in a three-game stand this weekend.
