No. 17 Eagles Sweep ASC Foe Louisiana College

The Eagles trail only No. 7 Texas-Tyler in the divisional standings. The Patriots own a 10-2 ASC record, while Ozarks has a 12-3 mark with just one conference series remaining. Texas-Tyler holds the tie-breaking over Ozarks, but does have six games remaining in league play. The Eagles finish the regular season against Mississippi College on April 11-12. The Choctaws are in third place with an 8-2 ASC mark. All three games against the Choctaws can be heard at www.kxio-fmradio.com, with play-by-play man Daniel Gallegos calling the action.

Ozarks completed their sweep against the Wildcats (15-17, 7-5) with a 10-2 afternoon victory. The Eagles trailed 1-0 in the fifth, but a Cory Briggs two-run homer put Ozarks up for good. The seventh proved big for Ozarks as they scored seven runs on six hits, two of which were home runs. Both Scott Dietz and Robby Finnell blasted two-run homers to highlight the seventh. It was Dietz's third homer and Finnell's ninth of the season. Logan Kizer also singled in a pair of runs in the frame. Finnell would single in a run in the eighth for the final run.

Ozarks totaled 17 hits in the contest, with David Smith going 4-for-5. Briggs and Finnell ended the game with 3 RBI. Briggs, the leading hitter in the ASC, now has three homers.

Bruce Cameron (5-0) received the win. The junior right-hander worked five innings and allowed just one run. He had four strikeouts.

Ozarks will travel to Russellville to face Arkansas Tech University on April 8.
