#24 Eagles Win Texas-Dallas Series

Ozarks (18-3, 5-1) came back in game two and used a seven-run first inning to secure a 11-3 victory, thus giving Ozarks the series clinching-win against the Comets (14-8, 1-5).

Dixon, who was coming off a 14-strikeout performance on March 9, fanned six more to increase his total to 39 this season. The senior right-hander issued just one walk against Texas-Dallas and did not allow a hit in the final five innings of the game. The Eagles gave Dixon a 2-0 lead to work with as Robby Finnell singled in a pair of runs in the top of the first. After three and one-half scoreless innings, Bruce Cameron hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth of increase Ozarks' lead to 3-0. Two more runs were added in the sixth when Cory Briggs drove in John Glenn and Logan Kizer. 

Glenn, Cameron and Briggs all had two hits for Ozarks. Cameron has six homers this season.

Dixon moves his record to 4-0 with the seven-inning shutout.

Glenn cranked out two home runs in game two, and the Eagles scored seven runs off of five hits in the top of the first to grab the game's momentum. Briggs had a two-run single to start the Eagles' big first inning. Finnell tripled in Briggs, and Robert Mummey, Scott Dietz, Kizer and Glenn all followed with RBI in the same frame. With an 8-2 advantage, Glenn hit a two-run shot to put Ozarks up 10-2 in the third. Glenn led off the eighth with a solo shot. Glenn now has four homers this season.

Glenn went 3-for-5 with 4 RBI. Briggs finished 3-for-5 to put his average at a team-best .468.

Cameron (3-0) received the win after pitching seven innings and striking out five. 

Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face #5 Texas-Tyler in a three-game series beginning March 20.
