Hendrix Halts Bases Loaded Rally

Hendrix Halts Bases Loaded Rally
Trailing 4-1, Ozarks (7-4) loaded the bases with one out in the top of the ninth only to have Hendrix (4-6) relief pitcher Grant Hayes notch a save by striking out Drew Clark and then getting Freddy Prince to fly out. Mitchell Powers, John Singler and Peyton Johnigan drew walks to load the bases, but Ozarks would strand all three runners.

The Eagles opened the game with a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Warriors responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead for good. Hendrix starting pitcher Cory Belyeu scattered six hits through seven innings and fanned seven. Rodger Montano (2-1) took the loss as the starter. He went five innings.

Clark finished 2-for-4 for Ozarks.

Ozarks will host Hardin-Simmons University in a three-game set March 1-2. Friday's double-header will start at noon.
