Tyler, Texas-UT-Tyler scored a pair of runs in the first inning to set the tone for a 3-0 shutout win over the Eagles Saturday and complete a three-game American Southwest Conference baseball sweep.
Ozarks (3-10, 1-8 ASC) didn't help itself as it left six runners on base during the contest. The Eagles also committed a costly error that led to the Patriots (7-8, 5-4 ASC) two runs in the first. After the first inning, Ozarks wouldn't allow another run until the seventh inning. Andrew Beck (0-1) received the loss after tossing four innings as the starter. Tyler Erickson pitched the final four innings in relief and allowed only two hits. Freddy Prince went 3-for-4 to pace Ozarks at the plate.
Ozarks will host Sul Ross State University in a three-game series March 14-15.
