Louisiana College Uses Seven-Run Fourth Inning To Win Series Finale

Clarksville, Ark.-Louisiana College pitcher Brand Bignar didn't allow a hit through the first three innings of play to help the Wildcats to a 13-3 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday.

A solo home run over the left field wall by Garrett Parsons put the Wildcats (11-17, 10-12 ASC) on the scoreboard in the second inning and the visitors never looked back. Parsons' homer was followed by a seven-run fourth inning for the Wildcats including a Taylor Beavers homerun to left to lift his team to an 11-0 lead.

The Eagles (9-17, 6-15 ASC) followed with a run of their own in the fourth scored by Andrew Beck, who was driven in by a John Singler base hit through the right side to make the score 11-1. The Eagles later tagged on a run in the fifth with a Freddy Prince single to center that brought Peyton Johnigan home.

The Wildcats extended their lead in the sixth with a two run homer by Will Currier. Ozarks followed by adding its third run of the day in the bottom of the inning on a Johnigan base hit down the left field line that scored Tony Morales to make it 13-3.

Johnigan and Morales each had two hits on the day while Johnigan and Singler finished with an RBI apiece.

Beck (0-2) took the loss for the Eagles as the starter. Bignar received the win for the Wildcats.

Ozarks will travel to Conway to face Hendrix College April 8.
