Shook Records Game-Winning Hit In 10th

Jackson, Miss.-Sam Shook's single through the right side of the infield drove in the game-winning run to push the Eagles to a 2-1 tenth-inning win against Schreiner University Saturday.

Zach Walker started the rally in the tenth with a single. Walker then advanced a base on a wild pitch and later went to third on a Dean Igert's fielder's choice. Shook then provided the heroics with the game-winning RBI to score Walker.
    
Alex Rodriguez (1-0) received the win after pitching the final two innings. Rodriguez allowed only one hit. Oscar Dominguez threw eight innings as the starter and struck out five. Ozarks (2-4) had five hits, all coming from different players.  

Ozarks scored in the fifth inning on Alex Smith's RBI single, but Schreiner (2-4) came back to tie it in the bottom half of the inning.

In the nightcap, Birmingham Southern (2-0) overcame a 2-1 deficit and scored six runs in the fifth inning en route to a 13-2 win. Shook and Rayburn had RBI in the third and fourth innings. Birmingham Southern capped the fifth with six hits.
    
Jacob Smith and Rayburn had two hits apiece. Ozarks worked six different pitchers, with John Singler (0-1) taking the loss.  

Ozarks will host Concordia University Texas in a three-game American Southwest Conference series February 20-21.
