Louisiana College Takes ASC Baseball Double-Header

Pineville, La.-The Louisiana College baseball team took both games of a double-header scoring a combined 20 runs Thursday against the Eagles in American Southwest Conference action.

The Wildcats (8-16, 6-14 ASC) won game one 4-2 to snap a nine-game losing skid, and then won game two 16-2.
    
In game one, Ozarks (6-17, 3-12 ASC) would even the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth, but Louisiana College battled back to take the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning. The Eagles did narrow the gap to 3-2 in the fifth on a Taylor Parker RBI single. Grady Finley recorded an RBI single in the fourth. The Eagles had base runners in the sixth, but couldn't push either across.

Dean Igert went 2-for-3 at the plate for Ozarks. John Singler (1-3) took the loss on the mound.
    
In game two, the Wildcats turned a 1-0 game after two innings into a 7-0 route after four. Ozarks trailed 8-0 before it scored twice in the sixth frame. Singler and Evan Castleberry each had RBI for the Eagles. It wouldn't matter though as Louisiana College had a big seventh inning plating seven more runs to make it 16-2. Ozarks used five pitchers in the game.

Sam Shook and Zach Walker each went 2-for-4 for Ozarks. Oscar Dominguez (1-4) took the loss as the starter.

Ozarks will conclude its series against Louisiana College tomorrow in a single-game starting at noon.
