Louisiana College Edges Eagles In ASC Baseball Play

Pineville, La.-Louisiana College scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to pull out a 4-3 win over the Eagles and secure a three-game sweep Friday in American Southwest Conference action.

Ozarks (6-18, 3-13 ASC) held a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth, but the Wildcats (9-16, 7-14 ASC) recorded a two-run double and then followed with a sacrifice fly out to right field to score the game-winner. Louisiana College pitcher Ron Anders struck out the side to end the game in the top of the ninth.
    
Ozarks scored once in the first on a Zach Walker RBI single and once in the third on an Andrew Beck RBI double. With a 2-1 lead, John Singler recorded a sacrifice RBI to push the advantage to 3-1 in the top of the eighth. Ozarks' starter Alex Rodriguez cruised through seven innings allowing just four hits before running into trouble in the eighth.
Sam Shook and Andrew Beck each had two hits for Ozarks. Rodriguez (3-3) was charged with the loss.

Ozarks will host Texas-Dallas April 10-11 in a three-game series.
