Clarksville, Ark.-Hendrix College used six hits to score six runs in the first two innings en route to a 12-6 win over the Eagles Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play.
The Eagles (7-24) responded with a run in the first and a two-run homer from Evan Castleberry in the second to trim the deficit to 6-3. But Hendrix (18-20) would eventually lead 10-3 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Ozarks did answer with three runs in that inning behind a Jake Smith sacrifice RBI and an Andrew Beck two-run single, but the Eagles wouldn't score again. Ozarks used six pitchers, with starter Will Tucker (0-2) taking the loss.
Beck finished 4-for-5 and Castleberry went 3-for-4.
Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University April 24-25 in a three-game series. Saturday's game has been designated as "Senior Day", with six seniors being honored prior to the game.
