Winter/Spring American Southwest Conference All-Academic Honors Announced

Clarksville, Ark.-31 University of the Ozarks student-athletes were named to the 2014-15 winter/spring American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office Monday.
    
To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.

The baseball team placed ten athletes on the team: Nathan Cedor, a senior management/administration major from Gretna, La.; Oscar Dominguez, a senior general business major from Longview, Texas; Jonathan Ellis, a sophomore physical education major from Plainview, Ark.; Grady Finley, a junior health science major from Sheridan, Ark.; Taylor Parker, a senior health science major from  Hot Springs, Ark.; Quinten Parker, a sophomore business administration major from Gravette, Ark.; Keaton Ramsey, a sophomore accounting major from Sheridan, Ark.; Sam Shook, a senior mathematics major from Katy, Texas; John Singler, a senior biology major from Muskogee, Okla.; and Luke Vera, a sophomore accounting major from Bentonville, Ark.

The men's basketball team placed one athlete on the team: Dillon Gash, a sophomore mathematics major from Elkins, Ark.     

The women's basketball team placed six athletes on the team: Jordana Andrews, a senior health science major from Center Ridge, Ark; Annabel Fidler, a senior strategic communication major from San Antonio, Texas; Karlee Henson, a sophomore management and biology major from Mulberry, Ark.; Ashley Hipps, a junior health science/psychology major from Greenland, Ark.; Bryanna Moltz, a sophomore health science major from Sheridan, Ark.; and Libby Nepivoda, a junior English major from Lamar, Ark.
    
The softball team placed two athletes on the team: Krysten Shavers, a sophomore business administration major from Waco, Texas and Shawnee Sorensen, a senior health science major from Mountainburg, Ark.    

The men's tennis team placed seven athletes on the team: Bishop Bass, a senior management/administration major from Greenwood, Ark.; Corey Dillard, a senior biology major from Hot Springs, Ark.; Bryant Ford, a junior marketing/psychology major from Kaufman, Texas; Greg Knaggs, a senior management/administration major from Wylie, Texas; Dillon Murray, a sophomore health science major from West Helena, Ark.; Alix Tiegs, a junior radio/television/video major from Dallas, Texas; and Todd Turner, a senior biology major from Pearcy, Ark.    

The women's tennis team placed five athletes on the team: Andrea Caselles, a sophomore marketing/management/administration major from Nicaragua; Josey Love, a sophomore biology major from Sheridan, Ark.; Andrea Munoz, a sophomore management/marketing major from Honduras; Amy Wallace, a sophomore English major from Malvern, Ark.; and Megan Wallace, senior mathematics major from Malvern, Ark.    

Emily Black, a senior marketing major from Clarksville, Ark. earned Academic All-Conference as a student sports information director, while Spencer Coomer, a junior health science major from Piggott, Ark., made Academic All-Conference as a student assistant trainer.
