Game Two Win Earns Split For Baseball Team

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles came back from a game one setback Saturday to earn a split against Westminster College after a 11-9 game two win.

In game two, Ozarks (3-3) scored first before Westminster (1-1) tied the game 1-1 in the second. However, the Eagles plated five runs in the third behind four hits to take a 6-1 lead. Dakota Ebarb highlighted the inning with a two-run double to the left field gap. In the fourth, Westminster pulled within 6-5 on a homer, a single and two doubles. But the Eagles responded with three runs in the fifth to move ahead 9-4. Andrew Beck tripled in a pair of runs to ignite the inning. Westminster wouldn't go away though as it scored twice in the sixth. Ozarks got both runs back in the seventh, but Westminster countered with two of their own in the eighth. Jacob Barker was inserted in the eighth with two outs and left the inning without a run. In the ninth, the aggressive Barker forced a fly out and then produced back-to-back strikeouts to end the game. Barker received his second save of the season.

Beck finished 5-for-5 with four RBI.  Ebarb went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Ozarks totaled 13 hits in the contest.

In game one, Westminster jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and then added three more in the third en route to a 7-3 win.

Westminster recorded four hits in the second frame and three more in the third frame. Trailing 6-0, Ozarks trimmed the deficit to 6-1 on Patrick Clifford's RBI single. The Eagles would score twice more in the sixth to cut it to 6-3. The Blue Jays would get one run back in the seventh to make it 7-3. Westminster had 12 hits in the game. Ozarks committed four errors.

Keaton Ramsey (0-2) took the loss as the starter throwing four innings.

Ozarks will complete its series with Westminster tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
