Eagles Pound Out 14 Hits In 14-3 Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Ozarks pounded out 14 hits and got hits from eight different players en route to an impressive 14-3 win over Hendrix College Tuesday.

Ozarks (5-3) scored three times in the first inning, highlighted by a Justin Crider two-run double. The Eagles would add four more in the fourth and then explode for seven in the fifth. In the fifth, Ozarks relief pitcher Brady Taylor ran into trouble allowing two base runners, but the freshman right-hander induced a double play ball to keep the score at 7-1. In the bottom half of the frame, Ozarks recorded five hits, with Dean Igert starting the scoring fest with a two-run single. Andrew Beck later added to the offensive explosion with a two-run opposite field homer. The Eagles would hold a 14-1 lead after seven complete innings.

In the fourth, Adam Winter, Igert, Dakota Ebarb and Beck all drove in runs.

Igert finished 3-for-5 with 3 RBI. Beck had two hits, including his first homer of the season, with 3 RBI. Three others had two hits, which included Grady Finley, Zach Jones and Crider.

Hayden Keller went four innings as the starter. He allowed one earned run during that span.

Hendrix falls to 2-6 overall.

Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University February 26-27 in its first conference series of the season.
