Mary Hardin-Baylor Turns Four Doubles Plays To Secure Game Three Win

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor turned four double plays and fought off a late Ozarks' rally to secure a 4-3 win in a game that lasted less than two hours Sunday.

UMHB (9-12, 4-5 ASC) scored three runs on three hits in the second to grab a 3-0 lead. The Eagles (8-10, 3-6 ASC) got one run back in the third when Dean Igert had an RBI single. UMHB answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the fourth. From there, neither team scored until the eighth. This time it was Ozarks, which got an RBI triple from Justin Crider and an RBI single from Andrew Beck. Beck's RBI made it 4-3, but it was followed by the fourth double play from UMHB to end the threat. The Eagles would put the tying run on base in the ninth, but couldn't plate the run.

Hunter Coleman
(0-2) took the loss for Ozarks. Beck, Zach Walker and Zach Jones went 2-for-4. Fielder Dufrene finished 2-for-3.

Ozarks will host Ecclesia College March 22 in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
