Eagles Drop Road Game Against Hendrix College

Eagles Drop Road Game Against Hendrix College

Conway, Ark.-Timely hits in the fifth and sixth innings gave Hendrix College enough run production to break open a tight game and finish with a 8-3 win over Ozarks Tuesday night.

With Hendrix College (18-13) holding a narrow 4-3 lead, the Warriors had back-to-back RBI singles in the fifth to gain a 6-3 advantage. Hendrix got another timely hit with two outs in the sixth that drove in a pair of runs and all but put the game away. Fielder Dufrene had an RBI on a fielder's choice in the second and later produced another RBI on an infield hit in the fourth. Andrew Beck homered in the fifth to make it 4-3, but the run production stopped there for Ozarks (10-14). It was Beck's second homer of the season. Ozarks didn't help itself defensively as it committed six errors in the game.

Beck and Evan Castleberry each had two hits for the Eagles.

Keaton Ramsey (0-2) took the loss as the starter. He went four and one-third innings.

Ozarks will travel to Richardson, Texas, to face University of Texas Dallas April 8-9.
