Extra Base Hit In The Ninth Lifts Hendrix College Past Ozarks

Conway, Ark.-Hendrix College doubled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth to pull out a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Eagles Tuesday night.

Ozarks (10-18) held a 6-2 lead after six innings, but the Warriors (20-15) rallied for three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth to even the score. With the Warriors batting in the bottom of the ninth, Ozarks' relief pitcher Jacob Barker got the first batter he faced to fly out. Following a walk, Josh Walker provided the heroics with a double to drive in the game-winning run.

In the second, Dakota Ebarb and Alex Smith each had RBI. Leading 2-1, Ozarks would produce three runs in the fifth. Andrew Beck had an RBI single and Grady Finley posted a two-run single to move Ozarks in front 5-1. Hendrix responded with a run in the fifth and three in the seventh.

Keaton Ramsey went six innings as the starter. He struck out seven. Barker moves to 2-4 on the season. Finley went 3-for-5 with two RBI.  

Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face Texas-Tyler in a three-game conference series April 15-16.
