No. 20 Texas-Tyler Tops Ozarks In Baseball Action

Tyler, Texas-Ozarks and Texas-Tyler were in a tight game before the No. 20 Patriots scored five runs in the sixth to secure a 5-0 win Friday night in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (10-19, 3-13 ASC) posted five hits after five and one-half innings of play, but couldn't generate any runs. In the bottom of the sixth and the game still scoreless, things changed as Texas-Tyler (20-10, 9-4 ASC) scored five runs on four hits to move ahead 5-0. That would be all the scoring in the contest as only one hit was recorded after the sixth frame.

Texas-Tyler out hit Ozarks 7-6. Grady Finley had a pair of hits to lead Ozarks. Brady Taylor (2-3) suffered the loss after tossing seven innings. Taylor was charged with just one earned run and fanned six.

Ozarks will finish its series against the Patriots tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
