Louisiana College Baseball Team Tops Eagles In Friday Night Game

Pineville, Ark.-Louisiana College broke open a tight game in the fourth inning with four runs to pick up a 7-3 win Friday night over the University of the Ozarks in American Southwest Conference play.

With Louisiana College (6-1, 1-0 ASC) leading 2-0 after two, Ozarks (1-3, 0-1 ASC) plated a run in the third on Josh Wooly's RBI single. But the Wildcats rallied with four key runs in the fourth to take momentum. The Eagles came right back in the fifth to plate a pair of runs, one coming on an RBI single from Justin Crider and the other coming on an Andrew Beck RBI. Louisiana College responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth and Ozarks went scoreless the rest of the way.

The Wildcats finished with 11 hits, while the Eagles had nine.

Chase Edwards, Zach Jones and Woolly collected two hits apiece.

Jack Waggoner (0-1) took the loss as the starter.

Ozarks will finish its series tomorrow with a double-header starting at 12:00 p.m.
