Dakota Ebarb Drives In Game-Winning Run

Pineville, La.-University of the Ozarks Dakota Ebarb ripped a three-run double in the seventh inning to push in the game-winning run and help the Eagles past Louisiana College 7-6 Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

Ozarks (2-4, 1-2 ASC) would drop game three of the series 6-2.

In the win, the Eagles plated a run in the third inning on a Chase Edwards RBI double. Andrew Beck singled in a pair of runs in the fourth to give Ozarks a 3-1 advantage. However, Louisiana College (7-2, 2-1 ASC) stormed back in the bottom of the fourth and put five runs on the board. Ozarks responded with a run in the top of the fifth, this one coming on a solo home run from Patrick Mixon. Trailing 6-4 heading into the seventh, Ozarks produced a two-out rally to secure the game. Beck singled to start the rally, but the Wildcats then forced two outs. But Justin Crider extended the rally with a single and Mixon kept his big day going by following with another single to load the bases. Ebarb came in to pinch hit and provided a clutch double to right center field to push across the go-ahead run.

Beck and Mixon finished with three hits each for Ozarks. Mixon scored three runs. Jacob Barker, who appeared in the sixth inning, hit a batter to start the bottom of the seventh. But Barker (1-0) got three straight outs to receive the win.

In the double-header nightcap, the Wildcats jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings and the Eagles never recovered. Beck drove in both runs in the game. Beck, Ebarb and Crider each had three hits in the game.

Ozarks will host Hendrix College February 28.
