East Texas Baptist Tops Eagles In Non-Conference Baseball Action

Marshall, Texas-The East Texas Baptist University baseball team plated a decisive five runs in the second inning en route to a 13-2 non-conference win over the Eagles Friday under the lights.

The Tigers (16-10) scored five runs on five hits in the second frame, and then allowed just one run the rest of the way. Ozarks (9-14) held the lead once in the game, which came in the top of the second when Bryce Elder doubled in Patrick Mixon. Trailing 7-1, the Eagles scored a run in the fourth on Elder's bases loaded hit by pitch. The Tigers later followed with two runs in the sixth and the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Patrick Clifford and Alex Smith had two hits apiece. Gyeongju Kim (1-1) took the loss as the starter.

The two teams will battle in a double-header tomorrow beginning at 1:00 p.m.
