Belhaven Baseball Team Completes Sweep

Jackson, Miss.-The Belhaven baseball team completed a three-game sweep against the Eagles with a 7-1 win Friday afternoon.

The Blazers (22-14, 11-10 ASC) plated five runs on five hits in the second inning to hold an early 6-0 lead and then held the Eagles (9-22, 3-15 ASC) scoreless until the ninth inning. Belhaven induced double plays in the third and the fourth innings as the Eagles were threatening.

The Eagles used six pitchers, while Belhaven starter Landon Boyd cruised through seven shutout innings. The Eagles totaled eight hits. Andrew Beck produced three hits, while Justin Crider and Patrick Clifford recorded two each.

Ozarks will travel to Conway to face Hendrix College April 18. The suspended game from April 4 will also be completed.
