Keller ‘18  Named Assistant Baseball Coach

Hayden Keller was named the assistant baseball coach.

Clarksville, Ark.-Former University of the Ozarks baseball player Hayden Keller has been hired as the assistant baseball coach, head coach Aaron Gentry announced this week.

Keller played for the Eagles from 2015-2018 as a relief pitcher. Keller was a standout out of the pen owning the team's lowest ERA as a junior (2.73). That season Keller threw 29.2 innings and struck out 23 in 14 appearances. As a sophomore, he owned the team's second lowest ERA. For his career, he appeared in 50 games.

"To have a former player on staff is a unique opportunity," said Gentry. "Coach Keller's character and work ethic will serve him well and I can't wait to see how he'll positively impact our program. He'll be able to connect immediately to our players. And, because of his history at Ozarks, he'll make a great ambassador of our program and university on the recruiting trail.

He served as the pitching coach at Subiaco Academy for one season and also taught English there. Keller graduated from Ozarks in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in political science.

"This is an incredible opportunity I am very thankful for," said Keller. "It is awesome to be able to coach at the place you played, especially when you know the coaching staff. For me, it is a big deal to work under a guy like Coach Gentry. I am excited where the program is headed."

A native of Springdale, he prepped at Har-Ber High School.
