Dylan Kuester Earns NCBWA NCAA III Pitcher of the Week Honor

Dylan Kuester was named national NCBWA Honorable Mention Pitcher of the Week.

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior right-hander Dylan Kuester earned a national award today as he was named the NCAA III Honorable Mention Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
     
Kuester, from Coweta, Okla., threw a gem to lead the Eagles to a 9-0 game two win against Howard Payne University on March 5. Kuester tossed a two-hit complete game, nine-inning shutout, fanning 11 and walked only one in his outing. Kuester faced 32 batters and allowed just one hit through 8.2 innings. He retired the side in the second, third, fifth, sixth and eighth innings. He struck out the side in the seventh after hitting a batter and issuing a walk.

Patrick O'Rourke was named the NCAA III Pitcher of the Week after throwing a perfect game for Berry College.

Kuester prepped at Coweta High School and played at Carl Albert College.Kuester and the Eagles will hit the road for four games against Nebraska Wesleyan March 12-13.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicatedto the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters, andpublicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates, and official votes in the Dick Howser Player of the Year Award, Regional Player of the Year, and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication contests, and writing contests.
