Rey Lozano Wins ASC Batting Title 

Rey Lozano won the 2021 ASC batting title.

Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks junior right fielder Rey Lozano won the 2021 American Southwest Conference batting title with a .438 average. 
     
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Lozano won the title over Christopher Robins from East Texas Baptist University, who hit .425. A native of Lavaca, Lozano led the team in doubles (12) and on-base percentage (.487). He tied for the team lead in hits with 46. Lozano posted a .581 slugging percentage with 61 total bases and one home run. He drove in 18 runs and scored 23. He opened the season with a 15-game hit streak. He had 14 multiple-hit games and hit safely in 24 games. He recorded three or more hits five times. His average is currently among the top-50 in NCAA III this season.
     
Also one of the top defensive outfielders in the league, Lozano owned a 1.000 fielding percentage. 

Lozano joins Freddy Prince (2013) and Cory Briggs (2008) as Ozarks' players to win the batting title. His .438 average is the second highest in program history behind Briggs (.467).
