GAME ONE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark.-Dru Didway blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to give the Eagles a 7-6 come-from-behind win in game one Friday against Hardin-Simmons University. The Cowboys owned a 2-0 lead early, but the Eagles had a big fourth inning to take a 5-2 advantage. Ben Cross started the rally with a single to center field. Luke Morrison then drew a walk and Alex Ray singled to left field to load the bases. With one out, Kagen Kennedy delivered a base clearing double to give the Eagles a 5-2 advantage. The Cowboys answered with four runs in the fifth to take back a 6-5 lead. However, Didway sent a shot over the wall with Kennedy on base that proved to be the game-winner. Didway was the only Eagle to have a multi-hit game (2). Blake Benson received the win after tossing 6.1 innings. He fanned nine. Closer Kris Sloan recorded the save. The win also snapped a ten-game losing streak.
