GAME THREE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles had trouble getting any momentum against Hardin-Simmons' starter Brandon Girod as the Cowboys took game three of the series 10-3 on Saturday. Girod pitched a complete game and struck out eight while walking only one. The Cowboys led early 2-0, but the Eagles scored two runs in the fifth inning on a William Shumate RBI single and a Rennie Arjona RBI single. With Hardin-Simmons leading 6-2, the Eagles scored their final run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Shumate. The Cowboys then put the game out of reach with three runs in the eighth. Girod cruised in the ninth inning striking out all three batters he faced. Dru Didway had a three-hit game going 3-for-4 with two runs.
