Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks freshman right-handed pitcher Grant Cross was named the American Southwest Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday (April 4).

Cross, a native of Benton, Ark., tossed eight innings while striking out six to lead the Eagles to a 12-2 win in game three against Howard Payne. He also pitched three innings in relief against Hendrix to total 11.0 innings during the week. Cross only allowed one earned run in those appearances and finished with a 0.81 ERA.

On the season, Cross owns a 2-2 record with a team-best 3.31 ERA.
     
The Eagles will travel to Conway to face Hendrix College April 5 and then to Richardson, Texas, to face Texas-Dallas this weekend.
