Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks left-handed pitcher Blake Benson was named the American Southwest Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday (May 2).

Benson, a native of Springdale, Ark., scattered four hits over five innings to receive the win in game one of the Eagles' series against LeTourneau University. He struck out four. Benson was inserted in the final game of the series and tossed one hitless inning. This is his second Pitcher of the Week award of the season.

He finished the season with five wins and struck out 70 in 62.1 innings of work. He ends his career ranked among the program's top-10 in ERA (4.41), wins (13), games started (34), innings pitched (191.2) and strikeouts (168).
