Pineville, La.-The men's soccer team scored twice in the first half to cruise to a 2-0 shutout win over Louisiana College Friday in American Southwest Conference play.

The Eagles turned in an impressive performance thanks to a 20-shot effort and their third shutout of the season.

"I'm really proud of this team and group of guys," said head coach Matt Torok. "We continue to emphasize team over individual and they are embracing it. They understand that we can do more as a group than we can as an individual. We have had some tough calls go against us in the last two matches and we were able to deal with some adversity and rebound to post an important win in conference play."

Tony Ramos came up with a timely goal in the 14th minute on a scissor kick. Thomas Mills and Travis Leach received assists on the goal. Leading 1-0, Ozarks added a goal in the 21st minute to control the match. This time, Alex Ross posted the goal, his first of the season.
Ozarks had 20 shots in the match and held a 6-1 corner kicks advantage. Austin Benner recorded six saves, including five in the second half.

"We had some young guys step up and contribute tonight," said Torok. "Kaden Stuart, Will Shirkey and Rigo Cuellar played a big part in tonight's victory. Those guys played major roles in important spots.  We need to keep evolving as a team and keep striving to be the best team we can be and hope to hit our stride down the stretch."

Ozarks will host Texas-Dallas October 22 and Howard Payne University October 24 for "Senior Day."
