Regarded as the toughest NCAA III Men’s Wrestling Region in the country, Jake Dado and Jaylen York placed fourth and sixth, respectively. As a team, the Eagles finished in 12th place out of 19 teams. Dado (141) narrowly missed out on advancing to the national tournament after losing his third place match by decision. Dado put himself in position to qualify after posting two straight wins on Friday. Dado won by fall over Colin Roque from Augustana College and then won by decision against Pierre Baldwin from Central College. Dado dropped his third match, but came back to win in the consolation semifinals, winning in sudden victory over Jordan Carson from Millikin University. He then lost by decision against Eric Kinkaid from Loras College. York (157) worked through the bracket after opening with a 2-1 record on Friday. He won by fall over Dominique Quiroz from Schreiner University and lost to David Hollingsworth from Wartburg College. York battled to a win over Joe Beck from Fontbonne University and then posted a win by decision against Luke Condy from Central College. He dropped his match against Nathan Callaway from Millikin University. In the fifth place match, York lost against Bryce McDonough from Luther College. Dado scored 13.5 points for the Eagles, while York earned 10.0 points. Three other Eagle wrestlers scored points at the tournament. John Ward (174) won by fall over Robert Muhammad from Eureka College. RC Morris (184) won by fall over Christopher Corley from Westminster College. Ka'Ron Lewis (285) won by tech fall over Michael Carpenter from Westminster College.
