Eagles Split With North Central College

The Eagles (10-13) dropped game two 3-1 after the Cardinals (6-6) scored two runs in the top of the eighth on a pair of Ozarks' miscues.

In game one, Ozarks opened the bottom of the first with five straight hits and finished the inning with a 6-0 lead. Nick Brill doubled in a pair of runs, and Tony Morales, Drew Clark, Dean Igert and Freddy Prince all had RBI singles. The Eagles added two more runs in the second after John Singler and Taylor Parker each posted an RBI. Ozarks' starter Tyler Erickson cruised through five innings, allowing only three hits and no runs. Erickson (4-1) received the win. Singler threw the final four innings.

Five players for Ozarks had multiple-hit games. Prince, Brill and Mitchell Powers each had three hits. Sam Shook and Morales recorded two hits. Powers scored a pair of runs. 

In game two, Ozarks committed two costly errors in the top of the eighth to allow North Central to score twice. With the scored tied 1-1, North Central was able to move ahead 3-1 on just one hit. 

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the fifth on Prince's RBI double, but the Cardinals evened the score in the sixth on another Ozarks' miscue. The pitching duo of Ben Krusen and Kris Singh recorded seven strikeouts and limited Ozarks to only four hits in the contest. 

Prince was the main offensive highlight for Ozarks going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Jeffrey Works (0-3) was charged with the loss, but did not give up an earned run, had six strikeouts and allowed only five hits.

Ozarks is scheduled to play Ecclesia College at 2:30 p.m. March 22.
