  • ASC Delays Fall 2020 Schedule and Championships to Spring 2021

    Richardson, Texas --- The American Southwest Conference Council of Presidents announced today (July 24) delaying conference-scheduled competition and championship events for fall championship sports with anticipation of resuming ASC competition and tournaments in spring 2021. The delay includes the fall sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

  • Eagles Fall In Overtime Against No. 24 Texas Dallas

    Richardson, Texas-The Eagles gave No. 24 Texas Dallas all it wanted in the American Southwest Conference Tournament semi-finals match Friday, but fell short 2-1 in overtime. The Comets connected on the game-winner in the 93rd minute to eliminate the Eagles from the playoffs. The Eagles' defense, led by goalkeeper Logan Valestin, had to fight off 26 Comet shots duing the match. Valestin made a number of tremendous saves to keep the score at a minimum. He had seven saves in the first half. The Comets would record nine corner kicks in the first half. The match's first two goals came within one minute of each other. The Comets blasted a shot in the third minute to take an early lead off a free kick. But the Eagles quickly tied the match with a penalty kick goal from Drew Mott just seconds later. Even 1-1, the match went into overtime where the Comets held the Eagles shotless. The Eagles graduate one senior.
  • Eagles Advance On PK's, Move On To Tournament Semi-Finals

    Abilene, Texas-In a classic battle between two of the premier American Southwest Conference teams since the league’s inception, the Eagles advanced to the semi-finals of the ASC Championship Tournament by virtue of a 5-4 penalty kick advantage over Hardin-Simmons University Tuesday night. After two scoreless overtimes, the match went into penalty kicks, with each team making the first three attempts. Both teams then missed their fourth attempt and made their fifth attempt to make it 4-4. Richard Souffrant then nailed the sixth attempt for the Eagles to put pressure on the Cowboys. Goalkeeper Logan Valestin then made perhaps the biggest stop of his collegiate career diving to his right to keep Luke Braswell’s shot out of the net and send the Eagles into a celebration frenzy. The Eagles had to muster a comeback as Hardin-Simmons took a 1-0 advantage by scoring in the 12thminute. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Eagles quickly evened the score 1-1 on an Alain Claude goal in the 47thminute. Lorfils Milord created the scoring chance by beating a pair of defenders down the line and crossing the ball to Claude, who took one touch and fired it past the Cowboy goalkeeper. The Eagles created 19 shots in the match. Charleus Emmanuel Ritch fired off a shot with nine minutes left in regulation, but the Cowboy goalkeeper just got a hand on it to keep it out of the goal. Valestin posted six saves. “The whole match the boys played with heart and didn’t give up after allowing that first goal,” said head coach Aaron Brueckner. “They displayed tremendous resiliency and to come back like they did is a great accomplishment for this team. Logan and I have joked in the past that he hasn’t made a PK save in a shootout match. So for him to make two PK saves in a shootout on the road in that type of pressure filled situation is unbelievable. He proved today why he is a captain and a leader on this team.” 
  • Texas Dallas Edges Men's Soccer Team, Now Await Playoff Seeding

    Clarksville, Ark.-With major playoff implications on the line, Texas Dallas escaped Clarksville with a narrow 1-0 win Friday in a key American Southwest Conference match. The Comets scored a goal within the first minute of the match and that would be all it needed. The Eagles now await their playoff seeding in the ASC Championship Tournament. In a classic Eagle and Comet contest, a hard fought match ensued in a back and forth effort. The Eagles had six shots in the first half, while the Comets accumulated four. Both teams had six shots in the second half. While the Eagles attacked the Comet defense and created scoring opportunities, it was never able to find the back of the net.

    Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team has advanced to the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament for the seventeenth time in program history and the fourth straight season under head coach Aaron Brueckner.
  • Belhaven Shocks Eagles, Takes 3-1 ASC Win
    October 26, 2019
    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles allowed three goals, but had more shots than the visitors as Belhaven handed the home team a 3-1 setback Saturday in American Southwest Conference play. Belhaven held a 1-0 halftime advantage and then added a goal early in the second half. The Eagles couldn’t find the back of the net over the next 20 minutes, while Belhaven added one more goal during that span. Peter Ralph Severe finally ended the scoring drought, but the Eagles couldn’t produce another goal. The Eagles had a 17-12 shots advantage and 5-4 corner kicks advantage.
  • Eagles Score Five Times In First Half
    October 24, 2019
    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles produced a 29-shot effort and Logan Valestin posted a shutout in goal as the Eagles cruised past Louisiana College 6-0 Thursday in conference play. Drew Mott and Jackson Rogers scored quick back-to-back goals to pace the Eagles to a 2-0 advantage. Following a Charleus Emmanuel Ritch goal, Rogers would score again in the 14thminute to put the game out of reach. Tapiwa Manhungo added to the lead with a goal in the 32ndminute for a 5-0 halftime advantage. From there, Logan Valestin and the defense kept the Wildcats scoreless. Jonathan Julmiste scored the final goal in the 70thminute. The Eagles totaled 29 shots and 14 corner kicks. The Eagles had eight corners in the first half, with many of them coming early on. Mott, who scored on a free kick, had seven shots. 
  • Young, Mott Provide Goals In 2-1 ASC Win

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles got big goals from Tanner Young and Drew Mott to upend East Texas Baptist University 2-1 Saturday. With the Tigers leading 1-0, Young connected on a header in the 40thminute to even the score and allow the Eagles to begin the second half tied. Mott would bury the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 66thminute.

    Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles move to 9-3-1 with a 2-0 win over LeTourneau University Thursday. The Eagles scored both goals in the first half, with Lorfils Milord netting a goal in the 15th minute. Gaetan Jean Louis followed with another score in the 24th minute. From there, goalkeeper Logan Valestin and the defense kept the YellowJackets off the board to record the shutout. It was the Eagles fourth shutout of the season. The Eagles produced a strong first half, tallying six shots and three corner kicks. The Eagles had nine more shots in the second half.
  • Ritch Nets Fourth Game-Winner In 2-1 Win Over McMurry

    Abilene, Texas-The Eagles posted a 2-1 win over McMurry University and former assistant coach Mike Lambeck. With the score tied 1-1, Charleus Emmanuel Ritch netted the game-winner in the 58thminute. An own goal in the 36thminute gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The Eagles had an impressive first half recording eight shots and four corner kicks and held McMurry to no shots. Lambeck's team wouldn't go away though as the War Hawks scored in the 53rdminute to attempt an upset. But Ritch responded with his fourth game-winning goal minutes later to secure the game. The Eagles had 17 total shots in the match.
  • #15 Hardin-Simmons Survives Eagles Second Half Surge

    Abilene, Texas-In a battle of two ranked opponents, Hardin-Simmons fought off several Ozarks' second half scoring opportunities to survive with a 1-0 win Thursday night. Hardin-Simmons posted a goal in the fifth minute on a laser from 25 yards out and went into halftime with the lead. With the wind at their back in the second half, the Eagles fired off double-digit shots, including numerous shots on goal. Hardin-Simmons played most of the second half a man down due to a red card. Drew Mott had a chance with a one-on-one opportunity in the 52nd minute, but goalkeeper Trent Ivy came up with a big save. In the 80th minute, Harry Hilton nearly tied the match, but his shot went wide. The Eagles continued to mount pressure on the Cowboy defense with a relentless attack, but Hardin-Simmons kept the Eagles out of the net. In the end, the Eagles outshot the Cowboys 19-8 and had eight corner kicks. The Eagles are ranked #10 in the West Region, while the Cowboys are #15 in the nation.

  • Ritch Does It Again, Nets Golden Goal

    Clarksville, Ark.-For the second time in as many matches, Charleus Emmanuel Ritch provided the Eagles with heroics as the freshman forward scored the golden goal to push his team past Mary Hardin-Baylor 2-1 Saturday. The Eagles appeared to have the match in hand, but Mary Hardin-Baylor made a late surge scoring a goal with under two minutes remaining. The Crusaders would score off a throw-in. Ritch did damage earlier in the second half with a goal in the 69th minute. Ritch finished the match with seven shots.
  • Ritch Scores Golden Goal Just 29 Seconds Into Overtime

    Clarksville, Ark.-After battling to a 1-1 tie in regulation, Charleus Emmanuel Ritch delivered a dramatic game-winning goal just 29 seconds into overtime to lift the Eagles to a 2-1 win against Concordia University Texas. Ritch was in the right spot at the right time as he rebounded a shot and drilled it past the keeper in the box. It was Ritch's second game-winner of the season. Chris Reyes put the Eagles in front with his first collegiate goal. It came in the 51st minute on a pass from Ritch. The Tornados scored the equalizer in the 67th minute. Concordia edged the Eagles in shots 10-8. Logan Valestin had six saves.
  • Eagles Suffer Shutout In Conference Match

    Brownwood, Texas-Howard Payne University got the game-winning goal in the 35th minute and then held off the Eagles the rest of the match to pick up a 1-0 win Saturday. The Eagles created numerous scoring opportunities in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Eagles totaled 14 shots alone in the second half. Howard Payne was forced to make five saves in the final 45 minutes of play. The Eagles outshot the YellowJackets 22-13. Charleus Emmanuel Ritch had nine shots.
  • Ritch Nets Game-Winning Goal In Conference Opener
    September 26, 2019
    Alpine, Texas-Fueled by a game-winning goal from Charleus Emmanuel Ritch, the Eagles opened the American Southwest Conference season with a 1-0 win over Sul Ross State University Thursday. The Eagles had a strong offensive attack in the first half with eight shots, including forcing the Lobo goalkeeper to make seven saves. Ritch's key goal was all the team needed as the Eagles kept the shutout going for the next 78 minutes. Logan Valestin was credited with the shutout in goal. He notched four saves. Ritch and Drew Mott each created three shots.

    Jackson Rogers set the tone early with a goal in the sixth minute and Alain Claude scored in the 28th minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 road win over Rhodes College Saturday. The Eagles offensive attack forced Rhodes to make four saves in the first half behind nine shots. In the match, the Eagles had an impressive 11 shots on goal. Drew Mott assisted on both goals in the match. Mott paced the Eagles with four shots. Goalkeeper Logan Valestin recorded the shutout. He had three saves.
  • Men's Soccer Team Moves To 3-1-1
    September 18, 2019
    Conway, Ark.-The Eagles moved to 3-1-1 on the season with a 3-2 victory over Hendrix College Wednesday night. The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 advantage with goals from Gaetan Jean Louis and Jackson Rogers in the first half. Hendrix scored in the 40th minute to trim the deficit to 2-1 even though the Eagles outshot the Warriors 10-4. The Eagles then built a comfortable 3-1 lead after Drew Mott scored in the 75th minute. Hendrix scored a goal in the 81st minute to make it 3-2. In the end, the Eagles outshot the Warriors 16-12.
  • Eagles Secure 3-2 Win Over Ecclesia
    September 13, 2019
    The Eagles secured a 3-2 win over pesky Ecclesia College Friday behind a 26-shot effort. The Eagles recorded 13 shots on goal. The Eagles created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match, with 13 shots coming in each half. The Eagles held a 2-0 lead at halftime thanks to goals from Charleus Ritch and Drew Mott. But Ecclesia would find the net in the 59th minute. About one minute later, Richard Souffrant scored to give the Eagles a 3-1 advantage. Ecclesia eventually scored to make the match tighter, but the Eagles kept the offensive pressure on and held possession late in the second half.
