Women's Cross Country Team Represented At NCAA III RegionalNovember 10, 2018Mount Berry, Ga.-Three Eagle runners competed in the NCAA III South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Mount Berry, Georgia. Seniors Hannah Smith and Chauzney Hooks and freshman Silvia Chavez represented Ozarks in the women's 6K race. Smith ran a 24:46.27 to place 56th overall. Chavez ran a 27:09.52 to place 148th overall and Hooks ran a 28:30.75 to place 175th overall. Annie Rodenfels from Centre won the race with a time of 21:44.80. Emory won the team title with 83 points.

Hannah Smith Finishes Third At ASC ChampionshipsOctober 27, 2018Abilene, Texas-Senior Hannah Smith finished third at the American Southwest Conference Championships running a 24:21.63 in the 8K race. The Eagles placed eighth overall. Silvia Chavez (28:08.82) placed 31st, Chauzney Hooks (29:39.79) placed 46th, Katherine Goins (33:47.84) placed 71st and Areli Moreno (36:11.59) placed 78th.

ASC Cross Country Championships Set For SaturdayOctober 24, 2018Clarksville, Ark.-The American Southwest Conference women's and men's cross country championships will be held this Saturday, October 27, in Abilene, Texas. The Eagles had a strong showing last season and now enter the championships under new head coach Heidi Pinkerton. In the 2017 women's race, Hannah Smith finished 11th overall running a 24:46.3. Smith earned All-Conference Second Team honors for her performance. The women's team finished seventh as a team. On the men's side, Nathan Rankin won the ASC title running a 26:41.6. Michael Harris placed second overall with a time of 26:47.6. The men's team placed fifth overall as a team

Hannah Smith Breaks Own 5K Record At Little RockOctober 13, 2018Little Rock, Ark.-Senior Hannah Smith broke her own 5K school record running a 19:16.5 at the Little Rock Invitational Saturday. Smith finished 33rd overall. Silvia Chavez placed 96th with a time of 21:18.3, second best for the Eagles. The Eagles finished 17th as a team. There were 157 runners in the event.

Hannah Smith Wins Second Individual TitleOctober 06, 2018Clarksville, Ark.-Hannah Smith posted her second individual title of the 2018 cross country season, both of which came on the Eagles' home course. Smith won Saturday's University of the Ozarks 5K Invitational running a 20:09.9. Silvia Chavez placed fourth overall running a 21:49.2 to fuel a second-place finish for the Eagles. Smith, who won the Arkansas D-III Championships in August, was honored prior to the race as part of Senior Day and finished first among the 41 runners. Fellow senior Chauzney Hooks was also honored and ran a 23:36.8 to finish 13th overall. Katherine Goins posted a time of 25:49.4 to place 27th. Areli Moreno ran a 28:52.2 to place 35th and Fion Chen recorded a time of 32:54.3 to place 39th.

Hannah Smith Sets School 5K Record At Chile Pepper FestivalSeptember 22, 2018Fayetteville, Ark.-Competing in one of the premier cross country events in America, the Eagles finished 48th as a team in the 5K Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival Saturday in Fayetteville. Senior Hannah Smith paced the Eagles with a 130th place finish running a 19:26.8 to set a new school record. Smith broke her own record (19:52.0) she set last year at the Chile Pepper Festival. Silvia Chavez placed 328th with a time of 22:11.6, second best for the Eagles. The Eagles topped conference foes East Texas Baptist and Louisiana College as a team. There were 422 runners in the event.

Women's Cross Country Team Finishes Ninth At UCA Cross Country ChallengeSeptember 08, 2018Conway, Ark.-Competing as the only NCAA III team at the 5K UCA Cross Country Challenge, the Eagles posted a ninth-place finish Saturday at Beaverfork Lake Park. NCAA I University of Central Arkansas won the race. Hannah Smith paced the Eagles with a time of 20:23.6 finishing an impressive 15th overall.

Women's Cross Country Captures Arkansas D-III ChampionshipsAugust 31, 2018The Eagles won the Arkansas D-III Championships for the second straight year. The women scored 25 points, while Hendrix posted 30 points. Junior Hannah Smith won the individual title for the second straight year running a 13:41.60. Freshman Siliva Chavez placed third overall with a time of 15:22.90.

2018 Women's Cross Country PreviewAugust 28, 2018Clarksville, Ark.-New head coach Heidi Pinkerton will build around star senior Hannah Smith. Smith finished 11th overall at the American Southwest Conference Championships to earn Second Team All-Conference honors. She competed in the NCAA III Regional Cross Country Championships and finished 62nd overall. She owns the program 5K record (19:52) and 6K record (23:28.04). The Eagles finished seventh overall at the conference championships. The Eagles won the Arkansas D-III Championships in 2017.
